- 13:47 @splinister I was just thinking that the @MarsPhoenix tweets were becoming terribly sad again. Brings a tear to the eye! #
- 19:25 @MarsPhoenix No, thank you. It has been a real pleasure. Here’s hoping for the Lazarus effect. You’ll be sorely missed. #
- 19:27 I’m so going to miss @MarsPhoenix. #
- 19:28 @andygates Oh no effing way! Seriously?! Sorry, it’s not the carbon balance, but daylight savings that causing global warming! Of course! #
- 20:27 @MarsPhoenix That’s my job, sir. I’ll do my best. #

- 11:36 Apparently there is snow on the Pentlands. Can’t see from here, though. Air temperature is… tepid. #
- 16:46 Should be going to the gym, but that means another bout of eye freeze. Does a bath count? #

Sam reviews (short version)

This little gem of innocuousness is halfway between Deathwatch and Dog Soldiers. Same plot as Deathwatch, give or take; same style as Dog Soldiers, give or take. Definitely not as good as the latter, definitely better than the former. have to admire the guy who had to stay pretty much semi-comatose for most of the film. He didn’t even blink.
Trust me. Come the zombie apocalypse the Scots will not need some gun-wielding Sassenach female to save them. They will probably be really very happy to put a wall there because it will keep the English out. The Daily Wail brigade love an excuse to hate the English, and I’ll bet the SNP were right there on top of the wall waving the flag and yelling “Freedom!” in their best faux-Australian/American accent and cheering on the Smeatonator.
Could have been so much better. Wasn’t. Not, however, as big a pile of necrotic tosh as Sunshine. Not that this is saying very much.
The geekiest post I’ve ever written.

Today’s xkcd was something of a tea in the sinus-cavities moment.
It’s quite exciting. It’s like the teasers for the Avengers they’re putting in the big Marvel movies.
Oh. I fibbed. It was only about 5 seconds worth of Samuel L Jackson at the end of Iron Man. And I’m rather disappointed there wasn’t a bloopers reel. Maybe I should look for an easter egg.

- 12:29 @kayucian WTF? #
- 12:48 I has a Mars Phoenix mission patch! Squee! #
- 13:31 Today we have crows, magpies, seagulls, a cat and an errant fox outside our window. Cat was not pleased to see fox. #
- 14:45 @kayucian Heeee! #
- 17:24 Just back from pool. So cold I can’t feel my face and am slightly deaf. First eye freeze of the year! #
- 17:25 ObWTF?: Prosthetic eyes can freeze in v. low temperatures. Not very pleasant but irritating rather than painful. Mostly. #

- 12:34 @kurreltheraven It’s almost impossible to find likeable raven merchandise *anywhere*. Mostly it’s goth or pagan crap. #

- 12:50 Then again, there is this: tinyurl.com/58hb4x I might have to get me one of those. #
- 13:23 @andygates For why? #
- 13:26 @andygates Oh! Shackleton’s lucky if he gets a plastic bag when it rains. #

- 10:31 The suns out. Hooray. But I have conjunctivitis again. Not so hooray. #
- 10:31 And if I could edit tweets I’d go back and insert the missing apostrophe. I can hardly see at the moment, that’s my excuse. #

Oh dear

I think we can say for sure that someone didn’t do her research properly.
I had the idea to start this company a few years ago when a very close friend of mine had her first child, Merkin. Since I was already a pagan and always wanting to be around others like myself I wanted my very own store. But with the birth of that child I now had a name and a beautiful face to go with my idea.
Public service announcement: if you are going to name your child something just because you like the sound of the word, it’s probably a good idea to use the resource commonly known as a dictionary to find out what the word means. Otherwise you may just wind up saddling your daughter with the unfortunate moniker “Pubic Wig”.
Additionally, if you’re going to name your online pagan tat shop after your friend’s child, and the child’s name is unusual, it might be a good idea to include the meaning of the name in your research.
My name is Rev.Stephanie Peace and I am the owner of Merkin’s Moon. I have been a pagan/wiccan for over 18 years. I am also interested in many Earth based religions and cultures.
But not word definitions, apparently.

- 10:54 Awesome rainbow on the way to work this morning. This meant heavy rain, natch. I’m still shivering. #
- 10:54 I didn’t want to keep stopping to put on/take of my Gore Tex and I’d have overheated if I’d left it on. So now I’m cold. Bah. #
- 12:42 @mbftwit Because she’s an utter moron? It’s amazing how ppl forget that a car is a tonne of lethal machinery. #
- 15:29 @splinister RB’s SI Unit Theorem: "tonne" doesn’t get used colloquially so carries more "weight" because it’s precise… #
- 15:29 @splinister "Metre" sounds longer than "yard" for the same reason. #
